SERVICES

We perform the following procedures:

Arthrodesis (joint fusion)joint fusion
Arthrodesis is a surgical procedure, also known as joint fusion. The goal of arthrodesis is to provide pain relief, restore skeletal stability, and improve alignment in people with advanced arthritis. Not all arthritic joints are candidates for joint replacement replacement surgery. Sometimes arthrodesis is the better surgical treatment option for those with arthritis. Arthrodesis is mostly performed on ankles and wrists but it can be performed on other joints

Arthroereisis (subtalar stabilization )
The procedure consists of subtalar stabilization (arthroereisis) with a Vsubtalar stabilizationitallium staple, and it corrects alignment, restores balance, and allows continued function. Treatment of planovalgus feet in children who have spastic cerebral palsy and are less than six years old.

Arthroplasty (hammertoe repair)(hammertoe.
Arthroplasty is surgery done to reconstruct or replace a diseased joint. For rheumatoid arthritis, arthroplasty is done to restore function to a joint or correct a deformity. Bones in a joint can be reshaped, or all or part of the joint can be replaced with metal or plastic parts.

Bone spur removal
spurA bone spur (osteophyte) is a bony growth formed on normal bone. Bone spurs can be surgically removed.

Bunionectomy
Surgical correction involves removing bone from the first metatarsal head to decreasebunion pressure against the skin or actual movement of the bone to decrease the angulation of the first metatarsal. The key to a successful bunion correction is relocation of the joint surface without compromising joint function.

Cryosurgery for neuroma and heel pain
minimally-invasive procedure for the management of Plantar Fasciitis/Heel Spur Syndrome and Foot Neuromas. Foot Cryosurgery iFoot Neuromas a painless and safe in-office procedure utilizing controlled cooling temperatures to destroy pathological tissue (sensory nerves that produce pain) via a cryo probe.

Shockwave Therapyshock wave theraspy
Shockwave Therapy is restoring patients with chronic heel pain syndrome (Plantar Fasciitis) to a normal, active lifestyle with a single treatment. A non-invasive procedure similar to lithotripsy used in the treatment of kidney stones, ESWT uses therapeutic pressure waves to relieve the pain and inflammation in the tendon on the bottom of the foot.

Endoscopic plantar fasciotomy
Surgical intervention for the release of the fascia (ligament that runs along the bottom of the foot), with or without excision of the calcaneal spur. The fasciaendoscopic plantar fasciotomy (EPF) is a minimally traumatic procedure among many surgical alternatives for release of the fascia. (This procedure does not involve removal of the calcaneal spur.)

Forefoot and rearfoot surgery
forefootMany foot problems do not respond to “conservative” management. Dr. Shingledecker can determine when surgical intervention may be helpful. Often when pain or deformity persists, surgery may be appropriate to alleviate discomfort or to restore the function of your foot.

Ganglion removal

Pain and inflammation at the spot where the nail curls into the skin occurs first. If left untreated, an ingrown toenail can progress to an infection or even an abscess that requires surgical treatment.

Neuroma surgery
A neuroma is an abnormality of a nerve that has been damaged either by trauma or as a result of an abnormality of foot function. The most common location of neuromas is in the ball of the foot. In this area the nerve can become pinched and inflamed by the abnormal neuromamovement of the bones in the ball of the foot. As the condition progresses the nerve may become permanently damaged and surgical removal of the nerve may be necessary.

Tendon repair
A cut is made over the injured tendon. The damaged or torn tendonends of the tendon are sewn together. If the tendon has been injured severely, a tendon graft may be required. If necessary, tendons are reattached to the surrounding connective tissue. The area is examined for injuries to nerves and blood vessels, and the cut is closed.

Wart removalwart
Plantar warts affect the feet. They generally appear on surfaces subjected to high pressure (for example, the balls of the feet during walking). Plantar warts may appear with black spots in the center.
